2022 - This reports page has become a historical record since Covid as we have had so few weeks where Presentation has been allowed , and often winners are not on hand for a photo. Since weekly results are immediately available for viewing on the Members Portal those will replace this Reports page.
However if you have any photos for winners of events, we are more than happy to see them on our Women's Golf Facebook page!!

May 3, 10, 14, 21. Our Club Championship sees a new Women’s Course Record.
The Country Club St Georges Basin held its Women’s 2021 Championships in May over 4 Rounds. Some wet weather over that time meant that the course wasn’t favourable to great scores, and our final day’s play needed to be postponed a week, resulting in several players unable to complete the four rounds.
None of this takes away from the fantastic results achieved by our 2021 Club Champion Sienna Clarke. Her first three rounds of 81, 86 and 83 put her 3 strokes ahead of the field, but her final round of 73 left us in no doubt that she is a very deserving winner of the Championship.
Even more exciting for us all is that Sienna’s final round of 73 broke a long-standing Course Record for Women by 3 strokes. This previous record of 76 was set by many-time Club Champion Debra Weeks on 8th August 2005. So Congratulations Sienna - we are sure we will read more about her golf achievements in future years.
Many other of our players proved to be worthy of their prizes as well. Runner up in the Club Championship was Lois Dwyer. Janeace Owen was the Div 2 Champion, 5 strokes clear of Del Buckley and Beverley Stevens was our Div 3 Champion.
Nett Winners over the four rounds were Sienna Clarke 303 from Lois Dwyer 310, in Div 2 Janeace Owen 306 from Sue Stephens 326 and Div 3 saw Helen Davison 321 narrowly in front of Bev Stevens 323. As our end of year awards only allow a player to win one trophy, Nett winner prizes will also go to Cheryl Druett, Vicki Critcher, Myra Kara and Jean O’Brien.
Thank you to the Captain and committee on the organisation, to all of those players who competed and to the Green’s Staff for the fantastic condition of the course – as well as some of the innovative pin placements on the greens!

Friday April 30th Single Stableford – another glorious autumn day!! Our field was a bit diminished today – some players away at Royal Canberra and a few doing other things!
Once again, it was hard for most to play better than their handicap, but the course is looking great – some of the pin placements were new and different – that is always a challenge!!
Congratulations to the winners Deb Weeks, Cheryl Druett and Lesley Griffiths. Deb had 36 pts from Jenny Noden 34 and Vicki Diefenbach 33. Cheryl took out Div 2 from Myra Kara on 36 and Jill O‘Conner 34. Third Div was Lesley on 31 from Bev Stevens 30 and Kerry Coulter both on 30. Balls went down to 30 on a countback.
Apologies to everyone for the wait at Presentation while we retrieved the markers from the 13th green (Thanks Jill B) so we could award the Drive and Pitch prizes to Di McIvor, Myra Kara, and Pat Maidment. A timely reminder to everyone – if you are the last group out please remind each other in the group to collect the NTPs or Long Drives – we know that you have more important things to think about, its easy to walk off without them, but 4 heads are better than one!

Back to Reporting !! Golf reports are back! Woo hoo!!
Friday April 23rd. 4BBB Par event. What a glorious autumn day - we could be doing worse things than wandering the golf course! AND the course is looking pretty great at the moment, so keep fingers crossed for the Championships weeks! It was great to see our newer joined members, Adele, Kay and Cathy all there yesterday!
The 4BBB PAR event was very successful, more for some than others, and probably the hardest thing all day was working out how to enter the cards on the computer!! Well done to winners Trish Dyball and Wendy Stevenson who on plus 5, were just in front of Runners up Janeace and Deb W on plus 4. Third place were Deb G and Ellen G on a countback from Vicki D and Lois D. Balls went to plus 2.
It is just fantastic that the computer melds the 2 card scores, AND works out the countbacks, etc. Scores for this round are not counted for the Eclectic scores and we can even tell the computer that too!!
NTP only went to Div 1 and was Dell Buckley - Jackpot for 2 divs next week girls! See you then for a Stableford round.

In case this website ever becomes a historical record of Womens Golf at the Basin, I am adding an explanation for the huge gap in Comp reports that is obvious on this page.
What happened to most of 2020 and early 2021 - here is my version:
From the last report in March below, our golf course and club was closed to everyone due to the World Wide Covid pandemic. People were urged to stay indoors and definitely not to meet and socialise with friends and fellow players. What a huge upheaval to so many lives, not only our personal lives but those of people who became ill, and more drastically those local businesses were still reeling from the Bushfires.
In May we were thrilled to know we could resume playing golf but with many restrictions in place to reduce possible infection spread. Who knew that Hand Sanitiser would become the new gold!! Golfers were delighted to be on the course again but all committees were given the added duties of marshalling the field, monitoring players etc. We had to play in 2's, no cart sharing. No cash to be used in the pro shop, no removing the flagstick, no hand shakes to say thanks for the game. We thought it might be for a couple of months !!! Ho ho - we were still doing it in September!
There has been one very big plus for our committee during the 2020 Covid period. The arrangements that were needed to get the golf comp going and keep everyone safe, required a lot of interaction/co-operation between our committee and the Mens Golf Committee. In my opinion, our working together has been a great benefit to both committees, and there is a very strong and positive communication chain built now that will benefit us all. So its great to have a PLUS side for all our/their hard work!
Even when arrangements on the Golf Course began to normalise, we still were not able to have Presentations after our game, so still there was very little socialising other than with the players in our group. Our Presentation Day was informal and outside and no Christmas lunch meal.
Early 2021 many of our end of game routines were reinstated but as were had to adjust back to the "old way " of doing things our committee has been scrambling to re-adjust and reinstate all aspects of our get together after golf. Our raffle ahs started again, and we can finally sue the kitchen to make a tea or coffee. I apologise it has taken me this long to get back to acknowledging the winners, getting a photo and adding the news to this website!
We also now have a regular Newsletter that will be emailed to you, but which also can be read by clicking the link on the front page of this website.
CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of the events we were able to play in 2020. Our Club Champion Sienna Clarke, Div 2 Champion Trish Dyball (if you want to know why she calls it the Steven Bradbury ask her!) and Pat Maidment for Div 3. As shown below Liz Cullen won our Country Club Cup.

Country Club Cup Friday 21st August 2020 We were very pleased to be able to hold its annual Country Club Cup event, albeit with restrictions to entries. In previous years this has been an open event and is held in conjunction with a Charity event to fundraise for local charities. The monster raffle and get-together for lunch and drinks is usually well attended and enjoyed. Unfortunately this year the event was only for St Georges Basin and Vincentia members but it didn’t prevent a good file rolling up to contest the Cup. The weather gods were kind and the course was on the way to recovering from the recent deluges and wind damage, but good scores were hard to come by on the day.
Congratulations to our 2020 winner Liz Cullen, a previous Captain of our Women’s Committee, who played a sound round to score her winning 35 points. We were unable to have presentation but Country Club CEO Peter Thorncroft was able to meet Liz for a photo! Also a great round from Deb Weeks who took out the Gross prize for the event. Division prizes were awarded after these scores – Division 1 won by Jenny Noden 34, followed by Jenny Hartman 33 on a countback from Vicki Diefenbach.
Division 2 winner was Bridget Sant on 33 and a c/b from Val Kotlash then Jill O’Connor 31.
In Division 3 all players were on 32 points but the countback went to Kerry Coulter from Helen Davison and Robyn Johnson. Well done!
As Covid restriction mean no Nearest the Pins or Long drives, the committee were creative in making additional prizes for Mystery Aggregate (your partner was drawn from the hat), and Mystery 9 holes (you didn’t have to play well all the way, just in the middle of the game – holes 4 to 12!!) Vouchers were won by Liz Cullen, Bridget Sant and Marg Willard. Aggregate vouchers went to Vicki Diefnebach/Jenny Hartman, Jill Bussell/Val Kotlash and Kirsten Burke/Robyn Johnson.
A huge thank you to the Country Club for their generous sponsorship of the event, and also to Captain Vicki Critcher and her women’s golf committee for making this event happen under somewhat difficult circumstances! Let us all hope that next year the Cup will be bigger and better than ever!

Friday March 20th Invitation Day with Vincentia Ladies 4 person Ambrose. Quite a lot of trying factors in getting this day to run smoothly - including the very hot weather, last minute team changes with cancellations, liaising with the club for a lunch venue and menu!! Its a credit to you all that we could get through it all with some minor hiccups and it appeared a fair bit of enjoyment. Some great scores by the winning teams. First place Sandy Gonzalez, Liz cullen, Prue Karp, Dale Holland with a great 78/65.7. Runners upwith 83/69.1 were Kerry Mayer, Deb Reynolds, Kirsten Burke, Polly Oldfield. They were only 0.4 ahead of Soo Martyn, Cheryl Powell, Di McIvor and Gail Gee. There is always a lot of pressure on that one person who putts - but definitley speeds up the game! NTPs went to Kerry Mayer, Gloria Ardouin and Polly Oldfield. Long Drive prizes to Deb Weeks, Dale Holland and Joan Davoren.
Hoping we are all able to play next Friday Single Stableford - no cart sharing if you didn't see the notice.

Friday 28th February - Stableford Red.
45 players came out to compete on a perfect day. The course is very lush and looks amazing but there was definitely no run to take advantage of for the players. In Div 1 Jill Bussell came in first with 35 points on a countback from Kerry Mayer. Second Runner Up was Judi Nethery with 32. Sharing the prizes were Julie Kemp winning NTP and Deb Weeks claiming Drive and Pitch. In Div 2, a clear winner, Vicki Critcher with 34 points. Vicki also took out NTP and Drive and Pitch. An impressive performance. First runner up on a countback was Olga Clifton from Deb Reynolds both with 32 points. Div 3 winner was Deb Glover with 33 points. Hot on her heels were two people. Second runner up, on a countback Rhonda Fields with 32 and Ellen Glanville. NTP was awarded to Lynne Green and Gail Gee took out Drive and Pitch for the division.

Friday 31st January Single Stableford Red Braving a very hot and humid day 41 players went out to play under the newly introduced World Handicap system. It may have been the pressure of the new handicaps, the steamy weather or the lush course but our players struggled in the conditions. In Div One Jenny Hartman came in with a respectable 33 points. Runner up was Sandra Gonzalez on a countback from Jeanette Bale both on 30 points. A warm welcome back to Jeannette who continues her adventures in her van. Nearest to Pin went to the ever consistent Deb Weeks. In Div Two, Olga Clifton enjoyed a 33 point victory. Wendy Stevenson came in as runner up with 31 points. Val Kotlash, maybe assisted by a new hip, came in 2nd runner up with 28 points. Third division saw a nice win for Joan Davoren playing very close to her handicap with a 35 point result. Runner up was Bev Stevens with 32 points on a countback from Sue Lenne. Nearest to Pin was won by Rhonda Fields
GOLF 2020 - Friday January 24th 2 Person Multiplier and Singles in Conjunction - Yellow Tees
51 players competed. Unfortunately in this format if player A scores and player B gets 0 the result is zero for the hole, a result that appeared fairly often on the scorecards. Our winners on the day in the Multiplier Competition were Kerry Mayer and Deb Weeks with a fantastic score of 69 - both playing close to their handicaps over the 18 holes to achieve this result. Amazingly Deb and Kerry won on a countback from Bridget Sant and Lynn Ellis who also achieved 69 points. Third place went to the team of Vicki Critcher and Tracey Elliot with 64 points and 4thplace was taken by Judy Fishwick and Jill Bussell on 62 points. In the Individual Stableford events Deb Weeks won Div 1 with 36 points, Christine Black won div 2 with 35 and another strong result of 36 in Div 3 saw Bridget Sant take first place. Nearest the Pin was won by Liz Cullen in Div 1, Sue Finlay in Div 2 and Thelma Marlow in Div 3. Drive and Pitch results were very close to the hole for all three players - Jill Bussell in Div 1, Sue Finlay in Div 2 and Lynda Roberts in Div 3 The course is looking amazing and it was a pleasure to play.
Next week it is a Single Stableford event off the Red tees- the first game with
the new World Handicap system!!

Friday Nov 1st Medal of Medals Stroke round. As well as celebrating an impressive birthday with Josie Hume, 30 of us played a Stroke round on Friday and nearly half the field were competing for the Medal of Medals honour. In the end it was no contest as the very in-form Judy Fishwick blitzed the field with a 70 nett, taking out Div 2 prize from Lyndy Russell on 73. Div 1 winner was Julie Atlee with 73 nett from Judi Nethery 76. It was certainly Judy F's week - winner of Andy's comp Monday, Squizzies Tuesday, Friday prizes all round, and winning Match Play semi-final on Sunday!! The finals of the Fay Foxton Match Play will be contested by Judy Fishwick and captain Vicki so good luck to you both!

Friday September 6th Single Stableford event - Red Course.
Playing on newly cored greens and in gusty winds weren’t the best conditions for good golf for the 47 players competing. Some players overcame these to post some good scores for the round. Division One was won by Julie Atlee with 38 points from Lois Dwyer on 37. In Division Two Sue Finlay also had a great score with 37 points, winning from Bridget Sant on 34. Rhonda Whiddon took out Division Three with 35 from Thelma Marlow on 34. Thelma has just returned from a very good win at Gundagai vets golf as well! Well Done! Nearest the Pin prizes went to Jenny Hartman, Sue Finlay and Chrissie Black.
Next week is Monthly Medal or Stableford if you choose, so come along and enjoy the game!

4BBB Championship Friday August 9th and 30th The first round was contested by 24 pairs and this reduced to 15 pairs in the second round due to poor weather and conditions. Leaders after the First Round were Josie Hume and Wilma Scarpin with a fantastic 47, followed by Myra and Tracey on 46. Third place went to the Coulter comination of Kerry and Julie on 45, all great scores!! NTPs went to Denise Campbell, Wendy Stevenson and Lynne Green.
The second round was postponed and even then it was very wet underfoot. Over both weeks of competition one team really shone and went through for a convincing win in the 4BBB. Tracey Elliot and Myra Kara came in with a commendable 42 on the day and a 46 in the first round. This was an excellent effort from both the players. Myra also won NTP. Congratulations go to the 2019 4BBB Champions, Myra and Tracey. Runner up with a 41 in the 2nd round was the team Bridget Sant and Lynn Ellis. Second Runners up was the team of Lyndy Russell and Christine Black with 39. Our Div 2 Nearest the Pin went to Kerry Coulter. Friday 26th July Par Red course
It was a cold bleak start that turned into a perfect winters’ day for 38 starters. A Par event only awards the players with a minus for anything greater than Par for the hole, a square or even for any Par result and a plus for anything better than a Par on the hole. A challenging event! Div 1 Tracey Elliot came in with a minus one to win the division on a countback from the Runner- up Vicki Critcher. Second Runner-up went to Liz Cullen, so close, with a minus two. A nice drive saw Denise Campbell take out Nearest the Pin. In Div 2 Bev Stevens won with a plus one, Runner-up was Wendy Stevenson who squared and Second Runner-up went to Dell Buckley with minus one. Helen Davison came in with the Longest Drive. Div 3 saw Jean O’Brien the winner on square with close behind the Runners -up, Deb Glover taking Runner-up on a c/b from Robyn Hill both on minus one.

Friday 28th June Bisque Par Yellow Course. It was a fantastic sunny winter’s day for 39 players who went out onto a fairly wet course. The scoring had some players baffled but in this competition format, you can use your handicap points as you choose on each hole. The strokes you can take each hole are capped at a maximum of 3 strokes per hole. It was interesting managing your allowed strokes and trying to maximise the use of your handicap shots, there is no option to adjust the allowances at the end of the game. Some players ended the game with a few unused (hence wasted) shots. In Div 1 Myra Kara was first with a score of +3. Two runners up with +2 were Vicki Critcher and Jenny Hartman with Vicki awarded first runner up on countback. Jenny Noden took out NTP. In Div 2 Wendy Stevenson and Jill O’Connor were very clever in the use of their handicap strokes. Both came in with -5 and Wendy was awarded the win on a countback. Second runner up was Beryl Donovan with +2. NTP went to Wendy. Div 3 was won by Kerry Coulter with an excellent score of +6. Jean O’Brien and Jan Wong came in with +3, Jean awarded runner up on countback. NTP jackpots .
